What was the inspiration for my DOLLY WORLD Collection?
The Barbie movie with Margot Robbie from 2023 was a big inspiration for me as the DOLLY designer. I must admit that as a child I did not have Barbie dolls, but one Cindy doll. I was more into plush animals, painting and board games. Later, when my love for 50's and 60's fashion begun, Barbie was added to my inspiration list with her stylish looks from those same eras. My DOLLY brand has a lot of pink shades and Barbie's world too. Besides our signature color Ballet Pink, Barbie pink is on DOLLY's palette since the beginning too.
Campaign Style Photos
For the DOLLY WORLD campaign pictures I photographed our new muse real Dolly Mannequin with my dresses and tutus on ai Barbie World inspired backgrounds. The mannequin and dresses you see are real, so you see the actual products from the collection. Ai is the trend of today and I love the imagination and style of ai backgrounds because it fits perfectly with the style and themes of my DOLLY collections. I always photographed my daughter Isabella, which was my muse model till she became a teenager and I made a real mannequin dolly resembling her to replace her. On all my campaigns you can see Isabella photographed on the front and often, more mysterious, on the back looking towards a 'world' or a scenery in an outside nature location. That gives a bit of a stylistic image which is my signature as a red thread to the many years of DOLLY. ( Yes, next year 2025 we will celebrate our 20th. anniversary!)
